My name is Darek M. Grant. I am an Augusta native and currently serve on the City Council.
As part of my initiative to promote what is happening in our community, I plan to use this blog as a means of highlighting useful and helpful information for those who live, work, and visit Maine’s Capital City – Augusta.
Here is a little bit about myself:
Age: 30
Family: Wife (Jenn), 17 month old daughter (Libby), 2 dogs (Trot and Wakefield), and 2 cats (Riley and Zoe)
Profession: Legislative Aide, Senate Democratic Office
Born and raised in Augusta.
Class of 1999 at Cony.
Class of 2003 at USM.
Past Community Involvement: Augusta School Board (six years), including: Cony Building Committee, Cony Percent for Art, Personnel, Negotiations, Finance, and Strategic Facilities Committees; also served on Bond Street and 25 Bond Street Committees, and Comprehensive Planning Committee.
Other Community Involvement: Friends of the FlatironBuilding, Kennebec Valley Humane Society, Calumet Educational Foundation, Old Fort Western, and Cynergy.
