AUGUSTA – Ward 2 City Councilor Darek Grant has announced a public listening session for Tuesday, December 13, 2011 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Conference Room A at City Center in Augusta. The open forum is an opportunity for Augusta residents to meet with the Councilor in an informal setting and discuss local matters of importance.
“As part of my on-going effort to stay connected with the people of Augusta, I plan to hold these open sessions regularly,” said Grant.
Grant is serving his first term on the Augusta City Council as the Ward 2 City Councilor, which includes part of the east side of Augusta from Cony Street and South Belfast Avenue south to the Chelsea border and a west side section from Memorial Circle south to the Hallowell border and east of Sewall Street. However, he points out that any Augusta resident is invited.
“This is a great opportunity for me to hear what others have to say,” said Grant. “I also welcome a chance to talk more about my work on the council and with the eastside planning committee.”
Grant noted that he has heard from residents interested in learning more about the city’s recent report from the Eastside Planning Committee, which he chaired.
Councilor Grant can be contacted by email at: firstname.lastname@example.org or phone at: (207) 592-3124. He also offers an electronic newsletter of local matters. Go to: www.augustamatters.com to join the mailing list.
